Contest
Theme of the contest
Climate change has effects on the daily life of all Quebeckers but also on the lifestyle of Aboriginal communities. Certain traditional activities become difficult to practice and it is our duty to preserve them.
How does climate change impact your daily life? How can you try to set up actions to reduce the impact of climate change?
Inspired by the actions presented on this Web site, you can produce a video or videos and show your whole community how you help preserve Mother Earth on a daily basis. You can decide to compost your garbage, organize a clean-up of your community's streets or put recycling bins for used paper in your classroom; all these actions contribute to the creation of a healthier, more radiant future for you and your community.
Dates of the contest
You can submit your videos as of January 1st, 2012 by downloading them onto our web site dedicated to the contest. The deadline for submissions is April 30th. As of May 4th, 2012, Internet users can vote for their favorite videos until May, 23rd. The winners will be revealed May, 30th, 2012.
Videos: how to do it
You just have to use your smart phone or your camera (check with your Band Council, it could possibly lend you the material) and film the actions you set up in your community or at home to reduce your greenhouse gas emissions. The videos must be accompanied by a short text or poem (maximum 150 words) to explain or complete your video. Each video must be between 2 and 6 minutes in length. You can even download a video for each action you take! Be inventive and creative, we encourage you to produce original and unconventional videos.
