Energy and Climate changes
Today, climate change is very present and it is easy to note its effects on our daily lives; increase in precipitation or warmer temperatures during our winters. These climate pattern changes in our regions have repercussions on our environment, but also on human activities.
As a result, the First Nations of Quebec and Labrador Sustainable Development Institute has decided to launch the project "Actions for the reduction of greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions among the First Nations". This project was undertaken with the financial support of the government of Canada provided through the federal Department of the Environment. It seeks to raise awareness in over thirty communities about the sources and problems linked to GHG and lead them to adopt behaviours in order to reduce these emissions.
Through our team's visits to these communities and the setting up of workshops and educational material (The Green Action Plan), we intend to mobilize the communities in the fight against climate change.
On the project's pages, you will find theoretical and also practical information. From the definition of greenhouse gases to the actions you can take at home to reduce your emissions, you will discover all the elements and tools required to understand the issues and thus be able to step forward and commit to the protection of Mother Earth.
